How arbr works
Save it. Like it. Recommend it.
Choose what an item means to you, then choose who can see it. These are two separate choices.
New saves start as Private + Saved. You can change the endorsement or make the item public whenever you want.
What does it mean to you?
An endorsement expresses your view. Choose one per item; you can change your mind later.
Saved
Keep it for later. Saving does not mean recommending.
For example: A book you want to read or an article you want to revisit.
Liked
I enjoyed this.
For example: A video you enjoyed, without making a recommendation.
Recommended
I think others should try this.
For example: An essay you would suggest to someone interested in the subject.
Canon
One of my most important recommendations.
For example: A book or idea you return to and consider essential.
Who can see it?
Visibility applies to your library entry: the resource you saved, your endorsement, and your note.
Private
Only you can see this saved item and your note.
For example: Keep a reading list or a personal note just for yourself.
Public
Anyone can see this item and your note on your profile.
For example: Share an item and your note through your public library.
Public Recommended and Canon entries can appear in your followers’ home feeds. Public Saved and Liked entries are visible in your library, but do not enter the recommendation feed. Tags stay private.
A few ways to use them together
- Private + Saved
- Keep a link for later without sharing it.
- Public + Recommended
- Share something worth someone else’s time, with a note explaining why.
- Public + Canon
- Share one of the works that matters most to you.
A private entry can also be Liked, Recommended, or Canon. Changing its endorsement does not make it public.
